San Diego Dance Photos at Art in Motion

San Diego Dance Photos of the gorgeous dancers at Art in Motion. This was the final season at Art in Motion so we wanted to do something special for their photos for the last show. Well these talented little ladies impressed me so much! I have always wanted to do a powder shoot and they were up for the challenge. This was my first time doing this too, except for having Bruce be my model in my garage to practice my light set up. So funny! Well the shoot went great! Each dancer did a few shots without the flour and then they all did flour shots. And by flour I mean regular flour you bake with. I set up two grid strip lights in the back right off the sides of the drop. This was the key to get the flour to pop and also that amazing rim light on the dancers. It makes them 3 dimensional. Then I added a medium size soft box off to the one side in front of the dancer to give her face a little fill light. I am so excited how these turned out. The only negative is the clean up. It goes everywhere and farther than you think it will. So just if you try this shoot make sure you block out an area with tarps. I can’t wait to do another creative dance shoot really soon. Check out some of these images!
